The CEM is designed to be rapidly updated as needed to reflect advances in the field. A maintenance and update process is being programmed into the CEM development rationale. Presently, distribution of the CEM is in two forms:
Engineer Manual - EM 1110-2-1100
The CEM is an official Corps of Engineers Engineering Manual (EM). It is available from the Corps' web site as a .pdf document that users can download and print. The entire CEM is a large document, and users can print the parts they need. This version, as with other EM's, is available free to the general public.
Note to Users: These links are to the publications distribution center of Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers. This is the only official source for the CEM. Chapters are periodically updated and newer ones supersede all previous versions.
CEM Parts Available:
Interactive and Enhanced Electronic Version
An electronic version of the CEM has been developed through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with Veri-Tech, Incorporated. This is a commercial product, produced at no Federal expense. This version contains the same text as the EM but is interactive and include functions, formulas, and examples and ties to other analytical tools. Veri-Tech will sell educational versions of the CEM to ensure availability to students at a nominal cost.
Printed and Bound Version
At this time, there are no plans for a printed version.
