The functional capability of the Evaluation and Design Group draws from specific technical and project management skills including:

  • Management of multi-faceted coastal engineering studies
  • Coastal structure and project conceptual design
  • Coastal project performance evaluation
  • Development and coordination of regional coastal management plans
  • Regional sediment budgets and broad-scale coastal sediment management
  • Coastal erosion, flooding, and storm damage evaluation
  • Coastal morphologic evaluation and predictive modeling
  • Inlet and channel evolution
  • Wave climate and water level evaluation for design
  • Coastal sediment analysis
  • Beach nourishment design and post-construction assessment
  • Shoreline change evaluation
  • Coastal GIS development and analysis techniques
