Mission: Conducts research and development in the general area of computational hydrology, including the development and application of hydroinformatic systems for military and civil works applications in surface water, groundwater, and watersheds. Systems address the multidimensional and transient interactions between surface water and groundwater that are essential for a variety of complex, comprehensive hydrologic studies. These flow and transport studies include, but are not limited to Total Maximum Daily Load studies of chemical nutrients in watersheds, surface and groundwater contamination of military sites, wetland restoration and design, and dam break analyses. Participates in the ERDC USACE Reachback Operations Center (UROC) worldwide for analysis of river operations in support of WARFIGHTER exercises. Provides hydroinformatic systems research, development, and application support to the Department of Defense, other Federal agencies such as EPA and NRC, and various military and civilian intelligence agencies. Provides hydroinformatics training and support to all supported sponsors.
